This is the summary of basic requirements to be met by sites contributing to LCG - Tier1 and/or Tier2. The original document can be found at LCG Wiki. In addition, VO-specific requirements may be provided.
Baseline services
- VOBoxes
- for each experiment (ALICE, ATLAS, CMS)
- LFC (or a compatible solution)
- a service per VO is probably needed
- FTS
- also is probably needed per VO; relies on Oracle DB server currently
- SRM
- Castor2, dCache or DPM (or a compatible solution)
- 3D project
- Oracle server instances: hardware, software, administrative support
- Other services:
- for gLite only: RB, BDII, RGMA etc
Connectivity to other sites
- Connection to T0
- Connections to other T1s
- FTS channels, probably (not necessarily) dedicated network
- Connections to affiliated T2s
- FTS channels, public networks
Operations
- Adequate human resources
- Adequate infrastructure (safety, cooling, power supply etc)
- For Tier1: 24/7 on-call system
